The School Nutrition Director Certification Program (SNDCP) is designed primarily for individuals who are employed as School Nutrition Directors or Coordinators or have been offered employment as a School Nutrition Director or Coordinator.
This is a non-degree granting graduate-level certification program. The program requires 24 hours of graduate courses in human nutrition, nutrition education, business management, human resource management, and educational leadership. Other requirements include ServSafe® Certification, completion of a 500-hour SND field experience which is met via concurrent employment, as well as completion of a master’s degree. Students completing the program requirements are recommended to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) for certification as a School Nutrition Director. Applications for this program are considered on an on-going basis.

Completion of a 500-hour field experience, met via concurrent employment as a School Nutrition Director or Coordinator is required. It is possible to begin or even complete the coursework prior to School Nutrition employment. However, the field experience can be completed only through employment in School Nutrition. A recommendation for certification must be received by GaPSC within 5 years of coursework completion.
